Next week, the creative team of Out of the Deep Blue will be in residency at 101 Outdoor Arts Creation Space in Newbury for our very first week of Research and Development in the studio.

Check out this behind the scene from Dani Bower filmed in Leicester (UK) on Sunday 11 October 2020 during Eko’s first outdoor photoshoot with the cast the puppeteers.

Out of the Deep Blue is an outdoor physical theatre performance featuring a large-scale Sea Giant Puppet operated by 5 puppeteers and a female contemporary dancer, inspired by the themes of the climate emergency and the biodiversity crisis. This spectacle is designed specifically for family and festival audiences and tells the magical story of Eko the sea giant who rises from the deep ocean and encounters, on the shore, a little girl called Violet.

Autin Dance Theatre presents Out of the Deep Blue with the support of Arts Council England, Midlands Arts Centre – MAC101 Outdoor ArtsDédaDanceXchange and Without Walls Blueprint R&D support.

Out of the Deep Blue is touring in Summer 2021.
